Due to our experience and
expertise, the Hunt Electric High Voltage Division was contracted to install 19
miles of 69kV transmission line beneath a major power transmission corridor.
The installation required crossing an interstate highway and a rail line to
energize a substation on the Paiute Reservation. To ensure successful
completion, it was imperative that we communicated and collaborated with the
utility, transportation department, and the tribe.
Our experience working in a desert climate
helped us to prepare our crews to work 12-hour days seven days per week in
temperatures as high as 118 degrees.
We worked closely with the Paiute tribe to
identify culturally sensitive areas near the transmission line, and we created
a plan to help us avoid them during the project.
We were excited to help deliver grid power to
tribal facilities that had been powered by generators for the last 15 years. The
project provided the reservation with a clean, affordable, practical power
source for residents and businesses.
