Hunt Electric Company History
For more than 35 years, Hunt Electric has expanded our business by building lasting relationships. The relationships with our clients focus on understanding their needs and offering creative solutions to ensure that we deliver high-quality work on schedule and earn their trust to become their electrical contractor of choice. Relationships with our employees center around the idea that as they enhance and improve their skills they expand and strengthen the company. That’s why we give them the opportunities and support they need to make the most of their careers.
The Beginning (1986 – 1990)
In 1986, Richard Hunt founded Hunt Electric, Inc., working out of his home with one employee and a pickup truck. Those early days of working on many small, closely supervised projects taught us the importance of doing quality work and serving clients with reliability and integrity. These traits became the core of our mission statement that still guides us today:
“Provide superior customer value through a culture of Quality, Integrity, Performance and Versatility.”
Building a Reputation (1990 - 2000)
As we focused on delivering superior customer value Hunt Electric grew rapidly and became known for defining qualities that set us apart from the competition.
- Exceptional Employees
- Aiming for Extreme Customer Satisfaction
- Doing Whatever It Takes
- Reliability and Consistency
- Adapting and Changing
- Excellent Safety Record
- Keeping Our Promises
Expansion (2000 – 2022)
Years of serving our clients taught us that many wanted a single contractor who would take responsibility to provide a broad range of specialties to serve all their electrical needs with one point of contact. That’s why we created eight in-house specialty divisions.
- Engineering, Design-Build Services
- Electrical Division
- Industrial, Automation & Controls Division
- Technology Division
- Service Division
- Traffic & Infrastructure Division
- Sustainable Energy Division
- High Voltage Division
Client demand and business growth led to opening Hunt Electric offices in Denver, Colorado, and St. George, Utah.
Hunt Electric will continue to focus on strengthening relationships with our clients by constantly expanding and improving the services we offer. This ensures that we will always deliver the best solutions to their changing needs. At the same time, we will keep investing in our employees’ continuous improvement by giving them opportunities that empower them to grow and thrive in their careers while upholding our family-friendly culture. Hunt’s future success depends on us all succeeding together.
