The Central Parking Garage, located in the Business Loop is the newest parking addition to the University of Utah Campus. Students and faculty have more than 800 stalls to utilize for campus activities. An interesting feature is that the top level of the garage is a fully-turfed soccer practice field. The infrastructure scope of work consisted of removing the high voltage duct bank and installing new duct bank conduit - all while keeping the road accessible to campus users. Our Transmission & Distribution team safely removed the existing high voltage duct bank wiring, pulled and installed a new high voltage transformer, sectionalizer, and switch to energize the new garage. New call-for-assistance phones were installed by our I.T.S./Data Communications team, and an emergency backup generator was installed. Conduit raceways were also installed for all CCTV and access control systems.
