Bangerter 4/IC

Ralph Wadsworth/W.W. Clyde involved Hunt Electric early in the Bangerter 4/IC project to provide traffic and infrastructure design-build services for the full reconstruction of intersections at 5400 South, 7000 South, 9000 South, and 11400 South along Bangerter Highway. Each intersection was modified from a standard signalized intersection to a full interchange to help with the flow of traffic. To keep the project moving forward and help minimize impact to commuters, each intersection was under construction simultaneously and a majority of our work took place overnight and during off-peak hours. Hunt Electric’s scope consisted of the relocation and construction of advanced traffic management systems (ATMS) including cameras, traffic monitoring stations, on-ramp metering, and a new 144 SMFO backbone down the corridor and through the project limits. The team was also tasked with the relocation and construction of a private utility duct bank consisting of 19 conduit pathways. Each new interchange received a new traffic signal system via a single-point urban interchange (SPUI) for the cross streets and off ramps.
