Hunt Electric was selected by the general contractor, Okland Construction, as the electrical contractor to design and install five parking lot canopy structures covering 224 parking stalls and 45,000 square feet with 1,694 solar modules that create 677,600 watts of solar energy. The solar modules reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 665 metric tons. This is the equivalent of eliminating the annual emissions of 145 passenger vehicles or avoiding the consumption of 74,824 gallons of gasoline.
The Hunt team faced the challenge of working on a site with a high water table and poor quality soil for building, so we increased the size of the foundations to accommodate the conditions. Because the project took place during the winter, we used additional safety equipment to protect workers from slips, trips, and falls.
