Hunt Electric was contracted by Spanish Fork Power to install 46kv and 12kv lines across I-15. The city contracted with Hunt Electric because of their expertise with very difficult and dangerous high voltage processes.

The Hunt Electric High Voltage Team coordinated efforts with the City and state patrol to ensure installation integrity and the halt to traffic to allow power lines to be pulled across the highway. Once the lines were pulled across the highway, 11 conductors were put in place. The Hunt Electric Team used special equipment to keeps the conductors tight as they were pulled over moving traffic.

Each conductor must be pulled to the right tension depending on the outside temperature. The correctly sagged conductors are then clipped into the insulators to hold the conductor in place. The crew worked two long weekends to install these conductors and did it in a safe and efficient manner.
