Hunt Electric was selected as the design-build electrical contractor for the Post District Residences, a luxury, mixed-use community in downtown Salt Lake City in 2019, with the project kickoff in 2020. The community, which occupies an entire city block, consists of four residential buildings with 580 apartments, restaurants, shops, and a parking structure. This upscale development offers a fitness center, indoor and outdoor pools, and elevated skyways. Our Engineering and Electrical Division team members worked closely with the owner, architect, and general contractor to finalize the design and streamline the construction process. 

At the beginning of the project, our Traffic & Infrastructure Division completed the entire underground electrical work on a short schedule. Additionally, our Distributed Antenna System (DAS) team installed 19 radio antennas inside the buildings to meet public safety requirements and enhance their mobile viability. 

Despite the project facing delays due to supply chain issues in 2020 and beyond, Hunt Electric demonstrated its adaptability and resilience. We responded by adjusting the sequence and flow of our work, ensuring the project stayed on track. Our collaboration with the owner and other trade partners was instrumental in overcoming these challenges, fostering strong relationships based on honest and open daily communication. This collective effort to navigate the supply chain issues was a key factor in the project’s ultimate success, showcasing our ability to work effectively as a team and solve complex problems.

By providing the electrical infrastructure, completing the installation of electrical systems, and providing other specialty services, Hunt Electric has had the privilege of contributing to the evolving skyline of our capital city and supporting the growing need for multi-family housing.
