DUT7 Distribution Center

Okland Construction contracted Hunt Electric to provide design-build services for one of the world's largest online retailer's new distribution facility. Our scope included electrical design-build on the core and shell of this 201,000-square-foot building. This building comprises 184,000 square feet of warehouse and 17,000 square feet of office space. Our scope also included fire alarms, security, phone, and data systems throughout the building.

Five of Hunt's eight in-house divisions worked together to make the project successful. Our in-house engineering team collaborated with the other divisions to ensure construction proceeded as efficiently as possible.

Our infrastructure team performed the underground installation that prepared the 75-acre site and 1,100 parking stalls with the required infrastructure to power the future Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet charging stations. They installed more than 100,000 feet of underground conduit for commercial-grade EV chargers with quick charging capacity. Our schedule was compressed by the urgency of paving the parking lot before the onset of winter. Hunt completed the installation in only three months. This was possible due to the collaborative effort between the in-house preconstruction and prefabrication departments. Close coordination with the Okland Construction team was also instrumental in meeting the aggressive schedule.

The project was completed on time and within the budget set.
