Hunt Electric’s Sustainable Energy division was selected to design and install a 1.78-megawatt solar power generation system at the new Zions Bancorporation Midvale Technology Campus. The system provides more than 75 percent of the electricity for the 400,000-square-foot environmentally friendly center that will accommodate more than 1,500 employees. This custom-designed solar power generation system is made up of 4,345 solar modules including 1,519 roof modules, 1,488 ground mount modules, and 1,338 canopy modules.

The utility company requires that the solar arrays use a zero-export system to ensure compatibility with the local electrical infrastructure. Hunt’s engineering team designed a customized system with an automatic curtailment function that scales down solar power production to prevent electricity from being exported to the grid as the utility requires.
