Hunt Electric provided a design-assist High Voltage Backbone for the Morgan Asphalt plant in Magna, Utah. The Hunt Electric High Voltage team supported Morgan Asphalt by assisting in an early electrical design allowing them to become a primary metered (high voltage) customer for Rocky Mountain Power. Hunt expedited the purchase and installation of critical high-voltage equipment to meet the primary meter conversion deadline. Primary metering now allows Morgan Asphalt to operate on a more cost-effective rate schedule for a better financial return. Hunt Electric provided and installed the primary metering cabinet, transformers, fused sectionalizers, and underground wire. Hunt Electric works with our customers to offer options and alternatives for switching and energizing a high-voltage system. Morgan Asphalt was able to meet its critical start-up deadlines, allowing the plant to come on-line and begin production in time for the busy spring demand. By working together early in the design process, Hunt Electric was able to better understand Morgan Asphalt’s needs and help them enhance their operations.
