This new facility is a regional operations hub for UPS. The core building is set up to receive all incoming packages and distribute them via a conveyance system throughout five connected outbound distribution buildings. The expansive 160 acre site includes a tilt-up building with offices, a truck wash and maintenance facility, a guard house, auto shop, customer center, fuel storage tanks and dispensers, and an employee parking lot to support 1,500 workers. It is anticipated that this facility will process over 69,000 packages per hour! Hunt Electric’s scope includes electrical work for service and distributions systems, site lighting, operations lighting, office lighting, and emergency lighting. Our team was also tasked to design and install all convenience power and special power for the fuel island system and the owner’s special conveyor equipment. Additional scope includes voice/data, interior and exterior Wi-FI, DAS and a 12mw substation with two transformers.
