Park City Mountain Resort

Hunt Electric worked with several teams for Park City Mountain Resort. Electrical, infrastructure, and engineering services were provided to complete this project. Our scope of work included service to new and relocated ski lifts including King Con, Motherlode, Quicksilver, and Silverlode. The Quicksilver Gondola connects the former Canyons resort to Park City Resort and helps create the largest ski resort in America (over 7,300 skiable acres). Additional scope included providing over a mile of trenching and conduit, along with two retaining walls, and providing and installing XFMR and switch vaults for Rocky Mountain Power. We also added a 500HP snow making pump at two stations along with added service at Water Services and Iron Mountain snow guns. Electrical wiring was provided for the Gondola Maintenance and Ski Patrol buildings. Service was provided to the relocated ski office building. Power was provided for a 500’ tow rope in The Colony. Safety was a high priority with concerns not only for our team’s safety in the various weather conditions, but for the safety of the skiers as well. We worked closely with Vail to manage the tight schedule needed. The project was completed in a third of the time a similar project would typically take. Our team worked through unfavorable weather conditions to complete the project in the tight time frame. The project started with hand drawings for the field to accommodate the project timeline until official drawings could be made. Our engineering department then took the hand drawings and created the official ones based upon the work completed. Weekly meetings were conducted with Rocky Mountain Power to coordinate any last-minute changes.
