Hunt Electric Technology Building (1811)

Home to more than 700 employees, Hunt Electric acquired a third building to accommodate our expanding company. Hunt Electric worked closely with our structural engineers and design team to bring the vision of this renovation to life and create an enhanced work environment. Innovation, customized workspaces, open floor plans, PoE lighting, technologically advanced AV/VR systems and the commitment to perform on 100% sustainable energy are some of the elements that comprise Hunt’s new home.

The team designed and installed a state-of-the art microgrid system, which includes a 130.4kW DC ballasted PV rooftop solar array, a 800A-480/227V electric service control center with the ability to island from utilities and operate with seamless transitions between distributed energy resources, a 150kW NG Genset with interconnection and integration to the microgrid, and a 125kW/112Wh lithium-Ion battery for energy storage.

We also installed electric vehicle charger stations in the building’s parking lot. These include one DC Fast charger and two Level 2 charging stations. These new EV stations will allow up to five vehicles to charge at once, and all chargers will draw power from the building’s solar array.

This expansion project helped Hunt Electric's growing campus reduce its carbon footprint and give back to the environment.
