A tribute to our trailblazer CEO

Happy Pioneer Day! As we celebrate the Trailblazers out West, we also celebrate our CEO, Richard Hunt, who founded Hunt Electric in 1986 while working out of his home with a pick-up truck, a small set of tools, and a few regular customers.

With humble beginnings, the company set its roots on repeat business and word of mouth for growth and generating new business. Daytime was for field work; paperwork and estimating were done evenings and weekends. As orders increased, employees were hired one by one. Equipment and trucks were also purchased one piece at a time. The work ethic, the strong merit shop culture, the camaraderie, the quality consciousness and the general up beat “can do attitude" of our employees all stem from those early years.

The past would not be complete without mentioning our loyal customers. Many have grown their business remarkably in the past two decades. As we have grown with them we have made a conscious effort to not lose that personal touch. Our customers know they can contact us on a small service call or a multi-million dollar electrical project. Both calls will be handled with the same sense of urgency and professionalism.

Hunt Electric has grown to 600+ employees, 3 branches, a fleet of 600+, and has paved the way for innovation in the electrical industry throughout the Intermountain West!

Today, we continue to serve a broad range of industries, providing expert service and collaboration on projects of virtually every scope and scale - not only from our Utah headquarters, but also in our Colorado office. In spite of this reach, we treat every project as if it is our only one, delivering responsive and hands-on service at every stage. In each of the markets we serve we strive to be a comprehensive, knowledgeable and dedicated partner.

As we reflect on Hunt's history and the paths paved by great leadership and determination, we continue to push the boundaries and blaze new trails in the electrical industry.
