Hunt Electric acted as the electrical contractor to help the Kane County Hospital increase the facility’s size by more than 17,000 sq. ft. The expansion included two new operating rooms, several recovery rooms, and a mobile MRI location. Hunt upgraded the electrical one-line system and doubled its capacity to accommodate this addition. The hospital’s lab, imaging department, and waiting areas were also remodeled.
The hospital remained operational throughout construction. Hunt used HIPAA cart containment boxes to protect the facility from dust or debris contamination during the lighting retrofit to ensure that operations were not interrupted, and patient care was not compromised.
This much needed upgrade to the hospital expanded the medical services offered in a remote community to both local residents and to those who visit the area for recreation.
The scope of work also included lighting renovation in the existing building and involved Hunt’s Technology division.
